EdgeIX fabric rockets through 100G throughput

EdgeIX is pleased to announce that the EdgeIX peering fabric reached a new record of 111.491Gbit/s aggregate throughput on 30th March 2021!


“This is a fantastic achievement for the fabric to reach, less than a year since we launched it.” said Joseph Wooller, Technical Director of EdgeIX. “The EdgeIX team are actively working to continue the growth of the fabric, either through new content and peers, new peering locations across Australia, or through community engagement like our recently-announced Discord Server.

EdgeIX is also pleased to welcome the following organisations to the EdgeIX peering fabric:

  • Wireline (AS58507) have connected to the Melbourne peering fabric, which expands upon their current capacity in Sydney and Perth, and will also be connected in Brisbane in the coming weeks. Wireline have an open peering policy, with further information available on their PeeringDB entry at https://www.peeringdb.com/asn/58507
  • GSL Networks (AS137409) have joined the Perth peering fabric, augmenting their existing capacity on EdgeIX Sydney.
